Five Minute Friday: Story

So, I am going to try and participate in something called “Five Minute Friday” – check out http://www.lisajobaker.com for all the details but basically each Friday she will post a prompt and you write for 5 minutes on the topic.

So here goes. The word for this week is Story. We all have a story as I now know. I guess for a long time I didn’t think I had any kind of story, that life was pretty boring, I was doing what I was supposed to do, etc.

Well, over the last few years I’ve found out through a lot of growing pains, tears, you name it, that I do in fact have story. It’s my story and mine alone and it is unique to me. My story is not like anyone else’s but its mine and I guess I would say I’m kind of proud of it in a way.

My story shows the progress I’ve made in my life in working towards the woman and person I am supposed to be. In living out my story I think I’ve discovered a whole new me, as a matter of fact.

I really like the new me that has unfolded in my story. She’s got a lot of qualities that I think I knew all along but were really afraid to embrace because of a lot of things I was taught growing up.

So, with time winding down on this five minutes I want to encourage you to embrace your story, whatever it is. It’s yours and tells the story of “you” whatever it may be, good or bad. We all have a story and it changes and grows as we walk through life.

Have a great Friday!

Thank you for encouraging me in your post! I love hearing people’s stories, it’s just amazing what God does with his children. Congrats on finding the ‘new me’, I hope you grow to love her!

  4. Hi Cathy, I can really relate to this. For a long time, I also thought I had no story. Fortunately, I’ve learned that we all do. Glad to hear that you’ve learned that too and are embracing yours. ~Tanya, visiting from FMF.
